Morphettville’s $350m racing precinct overhaul gets underway

Construction is officially underway on one of the state’s most exciting new developments, and one that’s certain to get horse-lovers’ hearts racing. Building activity on The Quarter at Morphettville – Adelaide’s premier horse racing venue – has kicked off as purchases settle and builders move in and set up shop. It marks the start of the South Australian Jockey Club $350m rejuvenation of the heritage sporting complex, in conjunction with developer Villawood Properties and superannuation company Hostplus. Supplied More than 40 lots in The Quarter have recently been titled, providing an idyllic lifestyle for race-lovers close to nearby facilities and amenities, with the broader Morphettville project transforming the course with a mix of luxury residential, commercial and community spaces. It will comprise 209 houses and low-rise apartments ranging in height from two to three storeys. The project will be the jewel in the crown of the Morphettville area, with the suburb’s broader regeneration backed by key government infrastructure and transport upgrades.
