A property in Hills suburb Glenhaven is set to come on the market.

Prepare to get jealous.

A landmark Sydney estate with a tennis court, dam, garage for 10 cars and downstairs “wellness retreat” with an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym is set to come up for sale.

The acreage owned by the family behind the development company Allam Property Group is expected hit the market next week in what could be a record breaking sale for Sydney’s Hills District.

The Glenhaven property, described as a “statement home” last sold for $8.8m in 2019, but smashed records in 2015 when it sold for $9m – the highest price ever paid for a Hills District home at the time.

The property last sold for $8.8m in 2019.

It is spread across five acres.

It was purchased in 2019 by the late property developer Barney Allam OAM, who passed away last year.

Mr Allam was the driving force behind Allam Property Group, which he founded in 1991, and built into one of the top five builders in Australia. He was survived by four children and four grandchildren.

Selling agency Merc Real Estate said no price guide will be released for the new listing and the home will be available “via expressions of interest”.

Agent Mechlenne Douaihy was tight lipped about what the expected sales price would be, but noted numerous celebrities and richlisters showed interest when the home was last for sale in 2019.

Local sources said the Gilmour Rd home could set a new precedent for prices in the burgeoning Hills District.

The home was built close to 20 years ago.

The highest price to date for a home in the region was the $15m paid for a six-bedroom acreage in Middle Dural in July.

The 1.9ha Glenhaven property is known as “Petalinda’. It is five acres and features a 14-person sauna, commercial grade bar, a 23m indoor pool, tennis court and gymnasium.

The house is spread over three levels. There are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Its security system uses fingerprint scanning technology and there are security cameras throughout the property.

Ms Douaihy said one of the things that set the home apart was the level of detail in the landscaping, noting there were numerous sculptures and rare trees on site.

There is a tennis court.

The property set a new Hills record in 2015.

The Glenhaven home has been commended for its landscaping and water features.

No price guide has been released.

“This home is the most talked about, most iconic home in the district,” she said. “I haven’t seen anything like it in 22 years (working in) real estate.”

The property changed hands numerous times over the 2010s. It had previously been owned by restaurateur Frank Criniti, who sold the home for $9m in 2015.

At the time, the deal also included furniture such as an $89,000 Gucci trunk, $22,000 Hermes chair plus a $120,000 wine cellar.

The property sold exactly two years later, without the inclusions, for $7m.
