A developer has unveiled plans for a towering $180 million project that could dramatically reshape Surfers Paradise’s famous skyline.
Bastion Development Group has lodged a development application with the Gold Coast City Council for the $180m residential project know as ‘Surfer’.
It follows the purchase of three adjoining sites at 2959 Surfers Paradise Blvd to 25 and 27 Vista St.

Surfer will form a flagship addition to Bastion’s portfolio, which includes the group’s landmark $174m Nera in Chervon Island, which has secured 70 per cent in sales.
“We are extremely excited to have lodged the development application Surfer, and we believe this project will be a great addition to both Surfers Paradise and the Bastion portfolio,” said Alex Wood, CEO of Bastion Group.
“The Gold Coast is rapidly growing and evolving, and we are proud to help cater to that evolution.
“There’s a strong desire for design-led living in such a central, vibrant location like Surfers Paradise, and Surfer will meet that demand.”

Designed by architectural firm Studio Snell, Surfer is set to include 30 floors with 100 two-bedroom apartments.
“This development’s location makes it an exceptional opportunity for investors. Being just moments from the beach and tram, it’s perfectly positioned for holiday-makers looking for convenience and lifestyle,” Mr Wood said.
“With a boutique restaurant, dedicated kids’ area, and well-planned private spaces, it also offers residents the comfort and ease of truly effortless living.”
Residents will have access to an EMF-designed gym, a pool, boutique retail, a restaurant offering room service to apartments, a dedicated kids’ zone, and an exclusive residents’ area with private plunge pools as well as podium parking.

The DA lodgement for Surfer follows the ongoing construction of Nera Residences by Bastion’s in-house construction arm, Bastion Built, with the ground floor slab now poured and the crane scheduled to go up next month.
Pending approval, Bastion Built is set to build Surfer.
“Our in-house construction arm, Bastion Built, allows us to ensure the quality and consistency of every project,” said Mr Wood.
