It could sell for $1: Squatter-damaged home hits market with NO reserve

A badly damaged home that buyers are not even allowed to step inside will go under the hammer with no reserve, meaning the highest bidder will walk away with the property — regardless of the price. The three-bedroom house at 74 Duffield Rd, Margate, on the Redcliffe Peninsula, will be auctioned onsite at 9:30am on Saturday in what selling agent Richard Barlow says is a genuine no-reserve auction. Mr Barlow, director of Webster Barlow Property, said the unusual auction campaign was launched on Monday. “It is a genuine no-reserve auction, meaning there will be no vendor bids and the property will sell to the highest bidder on the day,” he said.
