21 Grosvenor St, Brighton, has hosted footballing legends and legal eagles.
The Brighton home of high-profile retired King’s Council John Keenan, the brother of AFL legend Peter “Crackers” Keenan, has hit the market.
The 21 Grosvenor St property was where he went home after a slew of high-profile cases including after he won a $10,000 per patron compensation for revellers at the Tasty nightclub who were strip searched by police looking for drugs in 1994.
He also worked on the case of a fatal exorcism that took place near Horsham that same year.

“And he’s a bit of a local celebrity along Church St, stopping for a vanilla slice at Keith’s Cakes, or swimming with the Brighton Icebergers,” Ms Keenan said
The five-bedroom home was at one time home to Mr Keenan, his wife, four kids and three dogs — two of them dalmatians.
“We used to go to the Brighton baths every night after school, and we’d get cones of muscles off the rocks and we’d take them home and cook them,” his daughter said.
“There were Wednesday roasts cooked in the kitchen, and on Sundays there’d be minestrone in front of the fireplace.”

The home has garden outlooks from many of its rooms.
Eye-catching wallpaper in the home’s dining room has been wowing guest for decades.
Their father’s open-door policy meant that his children only got keys to the home for the first time about 10 years back.
The dining room wallpaper is instantly eye-catching — and about 50 years old now.
Character details are still on display, from high ceilings throughout the home and multiple marble fireplaces, to iron lacework along the veranda and ornate plasterwork.
The backyard hosts a pool and outdoor entertainment space, while inside there’s a sun room as well as separate dining and living rooms.
“It will be so sad to say goodbye, it will be heartbreaking — it still feels like home,” Ms Keenan said.
Period details throughout the home give a sense of how life has evolved in the bayside suburb.
The kitchen has served countless family dinners and gatherings.
A garden-lined arrival gives the home a relaxing vibe from first glimpse.
Nick Johnstone Real Estate’s Nick Johnstone is handling the $4.65m listing and said it was the kind of property that felt like a home.
With Brighton Beach, the yacht club and Brighton Baths at the end of the street, he said it was a perfect bayside address filled with history, and ready for a new chapter.
