AFL legend Robert “Dipper” DiPierdomenico’s childhood home at 71 Mason St, Hawthorn, has been sold after decades in the family.
The Hawthorn home that Hawks legend Robert “Dipper” DiPierdomenico grew up in has been sold, ending a more than 100-day marathon sale.
Famed for his five VFL premiership wins and collecting the 1986 Brownlow Medal, Dipper grew up kicking the footy at the 71 Mason St home with his brother.
His sibling bought the home from their parents, Stefano and Antonietta, but put it on the market in November last year.

A sale price was not disclosed, but the home passed in on a vendor bid when it was advertised with a $3.1m-$3.4m asking price last year and it was listed for private sale at $3m not long before the sale.
The double-fronted Edwardian has a four-bedroom floorplan, north-facing rear garden and character features including bay windows, polished floorboards and ornate cornice work around the ceilings.

The home’s kitchen has been renovated and refreshed.
Kay & Burton’s Scott Patterson handled the sale, and while the property passed in at auction late in November, a deal was finalised earlier in March.
Mr Patterson confirmed the sale to a young family from the area, but would not discuss the price.
He added that despite to interest rate hikes and conflict in Iran, so far character homes in Melbourne’s leafy east were still attracting buyer interest — but that the overall market was now becoming a bit patchier.
“We came out with all guns blazing in February and early March, and then the last couple of weeks Trump throwing his weight around has caused a bit of a flow on effect with interest rates and everything,” Mr Patterson said.
THe home’s open-plan living space attracted a local family.
A spacious back yard has room to entertain, or maybe even kick the footy.
The agent noted that there had been a 70 per cent clearance rate for houses at his firm over the past weekend, which showed the market was not underperforming.
When he listed the home Mr Patterson said it had been where the Aussie rules legend built a lot of his footy foundations.
“Dipper grew up there, went to the local primary school and he kicked the footy in the park opposite and became a Brownlow Medallist,” Mr Patterson said at the time.
