Better Home & Finance Holding Co. founder and former CEO Vishal Garg said Thursday that the company’s board intends to carry out actions sought by shareholders after a third-party election inspector confirms the results of a consent solicitation led by Garg’s group. The news comes just one day after Garg claimed that a majority of Better shareholders have submitted written consent supporting his return to a senior leadership role and changes to the company’s board of directors. A spokesperson for Better declined to comment on Thursday when reached by HousingWire. Garg made the comments during a Better board meeting attended by himself and his counsel, Michael Swartz of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, according to a press release. The release said that the consent solicitation received more than 50% of the company’s votes, which would remove remove five Better directors — interim CEO Daniel Lewis, Harit Talwar, Arnaud Massenet, Bhaskar Menon and Prabhu Narasimhan. The five directors agreed during the meeting that they would not take corporate action or nominate candidates during the interim period.
