Duran Duran ruled the 1980s with wild fashion and global hits. But four decades on, the pop legends have built a multimillion-dollar real estate empire spanning historic English manors, Spanish retreats and former wartime interrogation centres. Here is how the rest of the 80s hit makers have invested their fortunes across the globe. John Taylor Bassist John Taylor copped a brutal $5.2m price haircut on his historic Hollywood Hills mansion in 2025. Taylor and his wife, Juicy Couture co-founder Gela Nash-Taylor, listed the stunning 1931 Spanish-style Los Angeles villa for almost $13m in May 2024. They were eventually forced to part with the home for $7.8m to lock in their move back to the UK. Despite the massive discount, the couple still pocketed a huge profit on the Outpost Estates property, having originally bought the four-bedroom estate for $2m in 1999. With a personal net worth hovering around $60m, Taylor now resides permanently at South Wraxall Manor, a Grade I listed 15th-century country estate in Wiltshire purchased in 2005.
