Council warns residents reckless bin acts are threatening lives

An Adelaide council has implored residents to think long and hard about what they put in their household waste after incorrectly disposed of household items sparked two emergencies in the past fortnight. According to a post shared on its Facebook page, the City of Tea Tree Gully reported two waste truck fires in the past two weeks that had been caused by batteries and electronic waste being placed in kerbside bins. Fortunately, the post said, both fires were quickly extinguished and no one was hurt.
