CoStar Group closed its $800 million cash acquisition of Zonda, giving the commercial data giant a major foothold in new-home construction data, analytics and online marketplaces. The deal, announced May 29 and completed Aug. 21 after regulatory approvals, adds Zonda’s subscription-based data and software platform and its NewHomeSource.com and Livabl consumer marketplaces to CoStar’s growing residential portfolio, the company said in its announcement. Zonda serves more than 3,000 customers across North America, including large homebuilders, developers, suppliers and lenders. The company generated about $170 million in revenue in 2025 at an adjusted EBITDA margin of 23%, according to CoStar. The business will be folded into CoStar’s residential segment, which produced $444 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up 33% year over year. The acquisition pushes CoStar further into a segment that has been relatively underserved by digital platforms despite its size.
