Chris Brown Granted New Trial in $13 Million Lawsuit After Housekeeper Was Mauled by His Dog at His California Home

Chris Brown has been granted another trial after a jury ordered him to pay $12.9 million in damages to his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, after she was attacked by his dog while at his $6 million California home. Avila was brutally attacked by his 200-pound Caucasian shepherd guard dog, Hades, at his Tarzana, CA, home in 2020. After the first trial concluded and the musician, 37, was directed to pay Avila $13 million, his legal team filed court documents that claimed that the judge's decision to allow the jury to hear testimony about his assault on his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, swayed the outcome."The court conditionally grants a new trial on the issue of damages only," the new ruling reveals.
