CertifID has acquired Closinglock — bringing together two Austin, Texas-based real estate technology companies focused on fraud prevention, secure payments, identity verification and closing workflows.The deal marks CertifID’s second acquisition in four months, following its purchase of CloseSimple in June.Financial terms were not disclosed.CertifID CEO and co-founder Tyler Adams will serve as chief executive of the new combined company and said leaders recognize a turning point in the industry. “[Closinglock co-founder and CEO Andy White] and I have watched this space evolve, the industry evolve, the threats evolve, the consumer expectations evolve, kind of side by side for the last decade,” he told HousingWire. “I think we both started to realize that there is a pretty big tipping point here in terms of not only what is possible, but also how different the world might look five years from now with AI and with the threats and with the expectations of consumers. “I think we started to realize how much better we’d be at tackling it together that we would be at tackling it separately.” White — who will now serve as chief strategy officer — said the relationship between the two firms’...
