Brisbane couple lists hospital laundry turned family home to downsize

Picture: Supplied A former hospital laundry converted into an architecturally-designed family home has hit the Brisbane property market, complete with original sawtooth roof, exposed trusses and industrial shell. The dual-living residence at 24 Brisbane St, Annerley, was understood to have been a laundry and storage outbuilding connected to the nearby hospital before architect Rick DeLuca transformed it into a substantial family home. Owners Rob and Jody Peachey bought the property after returning to Australia from South Korea almost a decade ago. “We were looking all over Australia because I had always wanted a warehouse conversion,” Mr Peachey said. “We looked at one in Melbourne, I bid on one in Sydney and then we found this one in Brisbane. “It didn’t matter where it was, that was the style of home I had my heart set on.” The original sawtooth roof allows natural light to flood the home.
