Timber panelling in the sunken lounge, plus an orange-brown shag pile rug that matches the couch — 15 Brickwood St is a very Brady Brighton address.
A Brighton mid-century modernist time capsule so retro even the furniture reflects its 1969 build date has buyers linking it to the Brady Bunch.
Ironically, with the cast of the sit com having renovated the old Studio City home used to film the show in A Very Brady Renovation, the Brighton address might actually have more in common with the original Brady Bunch home of the 1960s than the same home today.
From the geometric front door to the sunken lounge and timber-lined interior walls, the home has inspired cries of “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” during inspections over the past few weeks.

Designed by acclaimed mid-century architect and home builder Lewis Coote, the home has been maintained by the same owner since it was built — including the furniture, much of it built into the home.
Nick Johnstone director Nick Johnstone said people had walked through the home saying “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha”.
“It’s like something out of the Brady Bunch,” Mr Johnstone said.
“I have never seen on this good and this original in 25 years. Even the bed linen is mid-century design.”
The kitchen comes with turquoise tiled splashbacks, and a built-in table.
Retro charm continues to the curved couch and display plate feature wall.
Families as well as mid-century modernist fans are expected to contest the auction, and the buyers will be able to discuss including some of the furniture with the purchase after the auction.
“A lot of people would like it to be a time capsule,” Mr Johnstone said.
Mid-century modern charm is found throughout, including turquoise tiled splashbacks and a built-in table in the kitchen, slate floors in the entry, timber panelled walls and classic wallpaper patterns.

Even the Brighton home’s bed linen has a bit of 60s flair to match the wallpaper.
The sunken lounge opens out to the home’s courtyard garden — though there’s still earthy-toned drapes to shut the day out if you want to take watch a 60s classic like Breakfast at Tiffanies or To Kill a Mocking Bird.
Classic wallpaper still features in the bedrooms, where bedclothes and furniture are both in keeping with the home’s origins.
There’s even a timber-framed mirror and sky-blue tub in the bathroom.
The decor is also perfectly retro, including a shag pile rug in the sunken lounge matched to the couch.
The first hints of mid-century modern charm are on display at first glimpse of the home.
A sky blue bath tub, timber-framed mirror and frosted glass shower window will have some buyers having flashbacks to their childhood.
Among the few concessions to contemporary life are split-system airconditioners.
Set on a 776sq m allotment, the four-bedroom home is slated to go to auction with a $3.2m-$3.4m price guide at 2.30pm on February 21.
