If it’s been a while since you cleaned out the car or changed the bed sheets then you’re not alone – a new study has revealed Australia to be a “procrasti-nation’’, with 97 per cent of us putting off simple household tasks. While Aussies love a good to-do list – with 82 per cent going to the effort of creating themselves an action plan – few items ever get ticked off, according to the study. In a bid to avoid actual priorities, almost nine in 10 Australians will start an unrelated task instead, while similar numbers routinely promise themselves that they will “start Monday’’. And although many might argue there’s simply not enough hours in the day, the Dare Iced Coffee survey is refusing to let procrastinators off guilt-free, finding Australians spend more than six hours a day on digital entertainment – the equivalent of a second full-time job and ample opportunity to get stuff done.
