Aus mum trapped by neighbours’ ‘poop walls’

A shocking dispute in regional New South Wales has left a mother-of-five in an unbearable situation, with her property effectively rendered worthless after her neighbours allegedly constructed 10-foot ‘poop walls’ around her home and engaged in a campaign of bizarre harassment.

Megan Perry has called her modest Dooralong property home for 12 years, raising five children amid free-range chickens and open land.

However, her tranquil existence – 102km north of Sydney – was shattered approximately 15 months ago when brothers Terry and Peter acquired the sprawling 385-acre parcel of land surrounding her $625,000 plot for a reported $10 million.

According to Ms Perry, the situation quickly escalated into a living nightmare, with alleged harassment began almost immediately.

Construction equipment moved piles of dirt just outside Ms Perry’s property.

Motorbikes and buggies reportedly started circling her fence line at all hours, a camouflaged military truck was parked with its high beams pointed directly at her house through the night, and a motorcycle loop was mown around her home, stripping the grass to bare earth.

The situation took a particularly foul turn when dump trucks began depositing large quantities of manure just three feet from her fence.

“Piles and piles of it,” Ms Perry recounted to the Daily Mail.

“And they just left it there for six weeks.”

It’s alleged that one of the brother’s then ploughed up the surrounding paddock, constructing 10-foot earthen walls that effectively trapped the waste against her fence line.

Disturbingly, Ms Perry claims he then began using the top of this mound as his personal walking path.

“We have cameras. I can see him,” she stated.

“He uses it as his own personal footpath and is just out there walking around our home, sometimes at 3am, just whistling.”

The impact on Ms Perry’s family has been devastating.

Her swimming pool is now unusable, the tap water runs brown, and dust coats everything.

A real estate agent has confirmed that the property is now unsellable.

Ms Perry has also been diagnosed with chronic stress disorder and has been connected to a victims’ counselling hotline by police.

“Our whole family is too scared to be in our home,” she revealed.

“As soon as I hear those engines, my heart starts pounding, and I’m not sleeping.”

Megan Perry claimed the local council won’t help in a dispute with her neighbours and her property is now unsellable.

Ms Perry recalls an ominous encounter before the walls were erected.

She offered to allow the Karagounis’ riders access through her gate if they ever became stuck, to which Terry allegedly responded that anyone trespassing on his land “will get shot in the leg.”

The harassment reportedly commenced a week later.

The contentious dispute has already seen five court appearances, resulting in an interim Personal Violence Order against one of the brothers.

It’s understood that two other neighbours have also obtained similar orders.

While the local council ordered the removal of the walls in January, enforcement has been paused as the brother’s pursue a development application.

Ms Perry, who currently lacks legal representation, has amassed over 100 pages of evidence detailing the ordeal.

She has also received an open offer from Terry Karagounis to purchase her property – an offer she believes would be for a mere fraction of its original value, given the damage inflicted.

As of now, the controversial walls remain standing, leaving Ms Perry and her family in a distressing and uncertain predicament.
