The home, at 5 Second Street, Keith, hit the market last week with an asking price of $275,000 – significantly less than the town’s $800,000 median price for four-bedroom dwellings. Selling agent Mandy Harper, of SAL Real Estate, said several inquiries had been received for the sprawling 920sqm property, with inspections currently being arranged with prospective buyers. She said first home buyers made up the majority of inquiries to date, followed by owner-occupiers, with all interest coming from outside the Limestone Coast town. Despite its low selling price, future growth opportunities and guaranteed rental returns, no inquiries have been received from investors, which Ms Harper attributed to the federal government’s recent negative gearing changes. The home is currently under a 12-month lease, returning about $320 a week, Ms Harper said.
