50 Marshalls Rd, Musk features an Eco Retreat with a 6m-high dome, romantic mood lighting and a water tank.

A contemporary architectural oasis with floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking bushland and a separate domed eco retreat has been quickly snapped up.

The happy buyers are a young family from Melbourne that will use the property as a holiday home and the eco retreat as an Airbnb investment.

Located just 10 minutes out of Daylesford, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 50 Marshalls Rd, Musk, features an open-plan design with curved full-height windows blending the inside of the home, looking out to the 8.09ha lush private forest.

The cosy wood fire in the spacious living room is perfect for a cold winter night – all buyers need to do is pour a nice glass of red and clink their glasses.

One of the property’s standout features is that the home’s self-contained Eco Retreat sits part-way down the block, and is used by the current owners as an Airbnb.

The Eco Retreat features a 6m-high dome, romantic mood lighting and a water tank.

BigginScott director Michael DeVincentis says most of the property’s interested buyers are families looking for a holiday home.

“The current owner is a developer who built it for their family as a place to retreat; now the kids have grown up, they no longer need it,” Mr DeVincentis said.

“You’re in your own little world out here – the home is close to the Passing Clouds Winery and the olive grove; you’ve got the native wildlife: kangaroos, wallabies and wombats.

The home is described as being private but close enough to amenities around Daylesford such as wineries and the town centre.

“It’s private without being isolated – many buyers wouldn’t know this, but here in Daylesford and Musk, it’s subalpine. We’re 650 metres above sea level, equivalent to Mt Dandenong in Melbourne’s east.”

The master bedroom offers panoramic views of the native landscape with the stars on show at night for a romantic night.

The current owners rented the home out for $675 per week for a year before deciding to put the house on the market.

The home was listed by BigginScott Daylesford’s Michael DeVincentis with a price guide of $1.25m
