Two of the biggest names in football, Nathan Buckley and Cameron Munster, have walked away from planned home sales as Melbourne’s market hits tough times.
Former Brownlow Medallist and one-time Collingwood favourite son Nathan Buckley’s Elwood property has been pulled from online listings.
The AFL Hall of Famer tested the market earlier this year, kicking off a sales campaign in January.

But online advertising has now disappeared, with former listing agent Jellis Craig Elwood’s Sam Gamon this week indicating he had no updates on the home — despite it no longer being present in online adverts.
In April locals saw a sticker go up on the sale board in front of Buckley’s home suggesting a sale was imminent, however the deal faltered shortly after.
Now the Elwood rumour mill has hinted the seven-time All Australian team member has looked into renting the multimillion-dollar home out.

Buckley has taken on an assistant coaching role at Geelong this year, alongside commentary gigs.
Records show he bought the home for $5,627,500 in 2024.
Last year, Buckley’s ex-wife Tania sold their former family home in Toorak for $13.1m after a protracted sales effort that undershot the one-time asking price of $18m by close to $5m.
And in Melbourne’s leafy east, NRL star Cameron Munster and wife Bianca have withdrawn their Kew house from the market, after listing it with a $2.65m range in April.
The pair have owned the home, featuring multiple living areas and a backyard kitchen, for about five years.

Melbourne Storm player Munster, who is also Queensland’s State of Origin captain, has represented Australia at an international level including at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup and the Rugby League Ashes in 2025.
Munster is also set to run onto the ground at AAMI Park when Storm takes on the Canberra Raiders in an NRL match on Sunday.
Jellis Craig Boroondara’s Mark Salvati said the Munsters had pulled their home’s listing because they had opted to retain the residence, rather than sell.
Although speculation has swirled about Munster potentially making a move to the Perth Bears, it was reported earlier this week that Storm bosses were set to offer a new deal in an effort to keep him in their team.

Mr Salvati said the winter season and upcoming school holidays, staring on June 29, meant the Melbourne market was quietening down.
“There’s a less buyers at auctions and it’s a bit tougher getting a deal together, but we are still selling quite a number of properties though,” he said.
“Fully-renovated properties are going well.”
Mr Salvati said that anything priced at $995,000 or below was “pretty hot” thanks to the Australian Government 5 per cent Deposit Scheme which allows eligible first-home buyers to secure a loan with a 5 per cent deposit, without paying for Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).
