Why buyers are rushing to secure move-in-ready homes in this exclusive suburb

Sydney’s Inner West has long held immense appeal with buyers thanks to its established homes, amenity and transport – and that enthusiasm is only increasing.

In particular, the suburb of Ashbury is attracting attention for its unique heritage character and the recent completion of Ashbury Terraces by Coronation Property.

“Ashbury sits between Ashfield and Canterbury,” says Peter Pereira, Development Director at Coronation Property.

“It offers a quieter, low-rise neighbourhood with a strong sense of community, and an established character that’s increasingly hard to find in the Inner West.”

Now that the development is complete, Pereira says buyers are drawn to the certainty that comes with a finished product.

“They can walk through the homes, experience the quality firsthand and know exactly what they’re buying,” he says.

“There’s a level of confidence that comes with that – they can make a decision and move in straight away.”

“People can secure a new home with access to thoughtfully designed shared amenity, while still being part of an established neighbourhood,” he says.

Ashbury Terraces offers completed, move-in ready homes in the heart of Sydney's Inner West.

Design-led homes that embrace heritage

A key feature of Ashbury is its heritage overlays, which have helped preserve the suburb’s established streetscapes.

This context was front of mind for the team behind Ashbury Terraces, including SJB Architects and 360 Landscape Architects.

“It’s not just bricks going up – we’ve worked with different hit-and-miss brickwork and lots of arch forms. It has already won awards for its design and detailing,” says Pereira.

In total there are 59 terraces, 74 apartments, and three penthouses across the development.

Pereira says the design prioritises quality and everyday liveability, with features in various homes including double basins, dual showerheads, Calacatta marble benchtops, and integrated Miele appliances.

“It's a 16,000sqm site so it’s spacious and you have your own privacy. A significant portion of the site is dedicated to landscaping, creating space for both privacy and shared use,” he says.

“We’ve got a heated pool, pavilion, gym and outdoor entertaining areas designed to complement the way residents live day to day.”

Sweta, a resident at Ashbury Terraces, found that the terraces were just what she was looking for in a home.

“As a single buyer, it might seem surprising that I chose a terrace over an apartment, but I was thinking long term,” she says.

“The terraces are incredibly versatile, catering to a range of lifestyles while still offering the space and privacy of a house.”

The homes at Ashbury Terraces are spacious, stylish, and expertly designed to suit modern life.

Tranquillity just 10km from Sydney’s CBD

Ashbury is just 10km from the Sydney CBD, yet is full of heritage homes, leafy streets and green spaces, such as the WH Wagener Oval which directly adjoins Ashbury Terraces.

“The location is walking distance to school, parks, cafes and shops, and there's a real sense of community,” says Pereira.

He adds that Ashbury is well-serviced by public transport, with bus services adjacent to Ashbury Terraces, and Ashfield Train Station just a five-minute drive away.

“Once the Canterbury Metro opens later this year, it will further strengthen connectivity and make access to the CBD faster and more reliable,” he says.

For Sweta, the location played a key role in deciding to buy into Ashbury Terraces.

"I love that it’s set within a leafy suburb while still being close to everything the Inner West has to offer,” she says.

Close to the CBD but still full of heritage charm, Ashbury is an enviable pocket of Sydney's Inner West.

Final terraces and park-side apartments available

Ashbury Terraces is now in its final release with limited terraces and park-side apartments available.

Remaining opportunities include a selection of oversized one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with park outlooks, starting from $950,000 for one bedrooms, $1,295,000 for two bedrooms, and $1,795,000 for three bedrooms.

“The apartments all have spacious living areas and expansive balconies for seamless indoor-outdoor living,” says Mr Pereira.

The terrace collection’s three-bed homes start from $2.19 million and span three levels, with internal lifts making them ideal for families or downsizers, he explains.

“They have open-air atriums with skylights that light up the kitchen and living spaces, rooftop courtyards with city views and all-day sunshine. It’s low-maintenance living without compromising on space or functionality.”

Sweta says that she makes full use of her terrace's layout, with the design suiting her day-to-day lifestyle.

“I love entertaining, and the courtyard is ideal for relaxed weekend drinks with friends,” she says.

“I tend to use each level differently throughout the day – it creates a natural rhythm between work, downtime and entertaining, which I didn’t have in apartment living.”

Each Ashbury Terrace residence has plenty of space for entertaining, both inside and outside the home.

Make Ashbury home

Ashbury Terraces is a newly completed community that is already attracting a broad mix of buyers, Pereira says.

Interest has come from young families and professionals through to to downsizers looking to remain in the area.

“We're seeing strong demand from people who want a completed, well-designed home in a tightly held Inner West location,” he says.

“With construction complete, buyers can experience the quality, amenity and location firsthand, and move in straight away.”
