A luxury “wellness retreat” with pool, sauna and ice bath owned by a recruitment boss is attracting interest in a “good buying market”.
99 Murriverie Rd, North Bondi has a $12m guide for a June 6 auction.
The six-bedroom, five bathroom home with double garage at 99 Murriverie Rd, North Bondi has a $12m guide for a June 6 auction via leading agent Alexander Phillips of PPD and his colleague Vince Licata.
“A-grade houses that are well built and have all the facilities like this one are ticking all the boxes and still doing really well,” Phillips said.
“On Thursday, we had 18 groups look at it.
“Above $10m is the strongest price bracket, I’d say, $4m to $7m is pretty weak, and everything else is a bit all over the shop.”

Jason Johnson and his wife Portia had bought the property for $11,235,000 in 2021.
They then commissioned YSG Studio interior designer Yasmine Ghoniem and Dangar Barin Smith to turn it into a wellness retreat.
It features a mineral pool, sauna and ice bath,
He says savvy buyers are now making the most of the opportunity.
“It’s a good buying market, which doesn’t usually last that long in the eastern suburbs,” Phillips said.
“There’s a pool of buyers out there that waiting for the market to come off, like it has now.
“A lot of people decide not to sell, so the market tightens up, which then forces the market to get a bit better.”
The stunning home is owned by Jason Johnson, who created the executive search firm Johnson Partners when he was 28, and bought the property for $11,235,000 in 2021 from EverBlue Capital founder Adam Blumenthal and Annabelle Shamir.
There are multiple living areas.
A home gym.
And home cinema.
Johnson then commissioned YSG Studio interior designer Yasmine Ghoniem to convert it into a wellness-focused retreat.
The wellness elements are the heated mineral pool, sauna and ice bath in the Dangar Barin Smith-designed garden, but the three-level home also features a basement leisure zone with cinema, billiards room and wet bar.
It’s been the perfect home for Johnson and his psychotherapist wife, Portia, with Johnson a self-confessed Bondi health nut, who runs the coastal track and uses his gym, sauna and icebaths most days.
But the couple are now looking to downsize nearby, with their focus turning to the redesign of their compound at Avalon on the northern beaches.
They sold their Palm Beach weekender, La Palma, for $11.3m last year.
Phillips this week sold the Gargaro family’s classic 1970s home at 45 Yanko Ave for $12.3m, nearly $2m over the $10.5m guide, to an upgrading family in the same street.
