A Heathfield home at one with its environment offers a tranquil lifestyle in the heart of the Hills.

Vendor Peter had the 31 Forbes Rd home built in 2013 through Max Pritchard, seeking to create a home that felt like it belonged in its picturesque surrounds.

“It’s a very secluded location and yet its very close to everything in that it’s less than five minutes from Stirling and Aldgate and it’s also not far from the city,” Peter said.

“You don’t see any neighbours and your surrounded by trees and it feels like you’re miles away.

“Max Pritchard has a real knack for making buildings fit into their settings and bringing the outside in.

“There are dams either side of the home, so there’s water all year round and the birdlife is sensational – you can sit in the loungeroom and look out at kookaburras, finches and all sorts of other species.”

The sustainable home has four bedrooms over its two levels with the master suite complete with his-and-her walk-in robes; a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that opens out to a terrace; a double garage and a pool with a separate pool pavilion with a four-car garage or workshop.

Peter says it is a great entertainer.

“It’s been great for entertaining our wider family – we’ve had weddings here and 21sts, the property just lends itself to that,” he says.

Now moving to something smaller in the Hills, Peter says he is proud of his creation and will miss it.

“It has been a great place to live.”
