USA Today jumps into the portal wars

USA Today publisher Gannett is partnering with AddressUSA, with the companies announcing Monday that they’re entering into a multiyear agreement to power an an online real estate portal across the USA Today Network.

According to a press release, AddressUSA’s listings will be integrated throughout the USA Today Network alongside editorial content on topics like home buying and selling, as well as home improvement

The companies believe that through this partnership, consumers will now have all the information they need to help them in the buying or selling process. 

“Our mission is to deliver the content our communities need and want. Real estate information and tools are important for our audience of 195 million average monthly unique visitors as they search for a home to buy or sell or simply want to explore properties as real estate enthusiasts,” Mike Reed, Gannett’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement.

“AddressUSA will enable us to drive further audience growth and engagement, enhancing the overall experience for readers to be inspired by what’s available in their local market.”

AddressUSA chairman Paul Huntsman is also excited about the partnership, which he believes will help his platform engage with a larger national audience. 

In addition to this partnership, Gannett said USA Today is launching “Home Across America” later this summer. This new section will be a photo gallery that spotlights homes of varying styles at various price points across the country.
