Homes are designed in all shapes and sizes, but it’s unusual to see one with a 7m x 4m crescent-shaped living space.
This is one of the features that has drawn attention for a Launceston home over the past week, alongside its sharp price.
No.138 Alanvale Rd, Newnham was listed for sale by Kellie Potter from Roberts Real Estate.
The sales consultant said this 1950-built home had been a hit with buyers.
Its nearly 8000 views on realestate.com.au saw it top the Tasmanian most-viewed table, while also ranking 12th in the nation.
“I was inundated with inquiries, both on the phone and online,” Ms Potter said.
We had two open inspections, which attracted 40 groups.
“We had multiple offers on the table, and the home has now been sold to Tasmanian purchasers.”

While the sale price is currently undisclosed, the two-bedroom home had been on the market for “Offers over $295,000”.
This is well below Newnham’s median price, which REIT statistics show is $540,575.
Ms Potter said the price was “definitely a factor”, and it was priced based on the fact that the home “needed a great deal of TLC”.
“You certainly can’t buy much for under $400,000 these days,” she said.
“So, we had a range of buyers from first-home buyers, to developers and investors.
“There were quite a number of people loving the unusual layout and style of the property. It was definitely a talking point!
“Given that it was a Mid-Century build, these types of properties can be fairly basic, but this one was certainly one out of the box.”
