Mr Young said that though the home has two bathrooms, one wasn’t a main bedroom ensuite and, nor was there a second living area that family buyers are typically in the market for in Newtown.

The 618sq m property with a rear north-facing block is close to The Geelong College and Sacred Heart and the Pakington St shopping strip.

Leadlight windows, high ceilings and decorative picture rails are among the character features in the home.

“It’s really a three-bedroom house with two bathrooms and one big living area,” Mr Young said.
“So when you market a home like that, you’re going to get a lot of family buyers that say it’s not going to suit my family.

“People just loved it because the quality of the renovations and the actual original character of the building. It was a really, truly beautiful home.
