It’s only a tiny stroll from the front door of this flamboyant beach shack to the sand, offering unique appeal to buyers along with Palm Beach vibes.

A beachfront home in Cairns featuring pops of quirkiness and vibrant colour has hit the market for just under $1.5 million.

Enveloped by lush palms and mere steps to the glistening sea, 56 Cinderella Street, Machans Beach enjoys a discreet coastal position.

“You walk out the front door, past your pool and then you’re straight on the sand into the ocean,” said Troy McGuane, director at Palm House Property.

Describing it as a “love shack”, Mr McGuane said the home gave off Palm Beach vibes, from its pastel pink and mint feature walls to the aqua kitchen splashback and integrated indoor-outdoor living design.

“It’s quite flamboyant when you get in. It’s almost like the Love Island house. It’s right on the beach and the pool connects with the sand,” he said.

The funky, bright and airy home was built in 1980 with the original owner living there before the current owner bought it in 2008 for $770,000.

The owner, who is a digital artist who owns a gallery and cafe in south Cairns, revamped the property, leaving his distinct bold imprint.

“Until you see it and walk through it it's very hard to explain. It’s not an open plan, it’s very segmented. The three bedrooms are very isolated. There’s little nooks to the house everywhere,” Mr McGuane added.

On the rear deck you can find a retro mural, similar to “something you’d see on the highway driving to Palm Springs”. Adding to the feel is a rock feature wall under the cover of lush towering palms.

Meanwhile, the pool area is surrounded by a crocodile-proof fence and includes a unique pink archway that is actually a shower masquerading as an artwork, hosing away sand before you dive in.

Inside, each bedroom sports glass frosted doors and is designated a number, just like a hotel suite.

The property would best suit a couple or investor keen to exploit its quirkiness and direct beach access, Mr McGuane said.

“It’s very eclectic and very different. There’s been quite good interest and people find it intriguing.

“Typical beachfront properties in Cairns are very limited. There's not many that offer the ability to walk out your front door and put your feet straight in the sand.”

The sale price of $1,499,999 would be a record for the street, he added.
