The Block 2024 episode 47 recap: Kylie says she warned Brad about how Mimi ‘felt about him’

3 weeks ago 10

Kylie is back, but it’s no loving reunion.

She makes it very clear that she’s here to ensure she gets her half of whatever profits she and Brad make from the sale of their Block house.

“If I give up we’d get nothing, so even if it’s ten grand I’m taking half and I’m leaving your arse,” she tells him. “You keep the house then I’m f..king off. I don’t even know if I’m staying in Cairns to be honest. There’s nothing there for me. You treat your partner like this you can f..king deal with the consequences.”

Their conversation reveals some more details about what went on between Brad and Mimi, at least in Kylie’s suspicions.

Kylie returns to the site 24 hours after she left.

“Do you understand what was said and what I heard? Do you even know what you spoke about?” she asks Brad.

“Yeah, vaguely,” he responds.

“My biggest problem is the entire time we’ve been together and even when we were starting out, you have never flirted with me like that in our entire relationship, so you can only imagine how that makes me feel,” Kylie goes on.

She then accuses Brad of spending “ages” alone with Mimi after Kylie went to bed.

“In my mind I feel like something happened but my biggest concern is I had already voiced my concerns to you about her and how she feels about you and you’ve just completely gone with it and completely anhiliated our entire relationship.”

Then it’s on to a tense all hands meeting on the new communal tennis court, the first time Kylie has seen Mimi since her return.

Kristian comforts his wife on tennis court after she’s too anxious to approach Kylie.

Kristian comforts Mimi in her obvious anxiety (something she refuses pointblank to do for him later in this episode)

“I feel like as much as I could have gone up to her, I couldn’t do it. It was still pretty fresh,” Mimi says later. “If I went up and said `hey, are we all good?’ and she said ‘No’, I don’t take that well. I’d probably crumble. It really upsets me. Avoiding also isn’t helpful but I think it’s just finding the right time, and that wasn’t the right time. She’d literally just got back.”

Instead, it’s Maddy and Charlotte who approach Kylie, despite Kylie earlier in the season storming out of a group dinner calling the sisters “f..king liars”.

“I want to live a life where I show kindness,” Maddy says later.

It’s a lesson Mimi could take on.

Kristian and Mimi interviewed after she refuses to give him her support.

Once again, this episode shows her doing nothing while Kristian shoulders all the work. He’s beginning to crack under the strain of the mammoth task of moving by hand a huge stack of 30kg pavers from the the front yard to the upstairs balcony.

“Just go one by one upstairs, what else are you going to do,” an impatient Mimi tells him, not offering to help.

When Kristian starts to feel overwhelmed with what sounds like an imminent panic attack he goes upstairs to seek some solace with his wife.

“Mims, I just need to talk to you. I’m not feeling well, Please just try to support me,” he pleads.

“I just feel I can’t do that” is her response. “You can’t expect me to do something that I don’t feel comfortable doing.”

After that fairly jaw-dropping display of compassion Kristian leaves site to take some time out from the situation before returning in a better head space to continue to work.

Scott Cam later comes to visit to offer him the encouraging words and compliments for his tireless work that Mimi seems unable to give him.

Kylie and Brad are interviewed together after her return.

The episode ends with Mimi, once again, standing around watching Kristian work.

Also standing around this episode are Kylie and Brad, and their entire landscaping team.

They lose eight hours of work because that’s how long Ricky and Haydn’s 70ft palm tree takes to be planted. The crane used to lower it into place is parked right in Kylie and Brad’s front yard with no warning and that means nothing can be delivered and no work can be done.

“It’s absolutely destroyed my miniscule budget. How is that fair?” Brad asks.

Kylie meanwhile, is making jokes about pushing Brad into the hole and planting the tree on top of him.

Does this mean she’s thawing?

If promos for Sunday night’s episode are to be believed, she might be about to turn her ire on Scott Cam.
