Wingadal, in Point Piper, is the home of ‘Aussie’ John Symond.
Welcome to the Sydney home slapped with a mindblowing $300m price tag – a value if reached would blow all current Australian records completely out of the water.
And double the current Aussie house price record.
Last year, “Aussie” John Symond pulled his massive Point Piper mansion off the market, which had a guide of $200m plus when launched the previous May.
It was known at the time he the Aussie Home Loans founder wanted way more than just $200m.
That was just to get people in the door.
In fact, the veteran prestige agents Ken Jacobs of Forbes Global Properties and Brad Pillinger of Pillinger were to receive “multiple offers above $200m”, but these had been rejected and in September a Symond spokesman confirmed the property was withdrawn from sale.
But new year, new deal – multiple sources have named the figure that would get the deal done: $300m.
Neither of the agents would comment, but a separate reliable source confirmed: “If someone were to offer about $300m, he [Symond] would be interested.”
If achieved, this would easily outvalue all current price records.

‘Aussie’ John Symond at his Point Piper mansion.
It’s currently off the market, but would be back on the market if an offer of $300m was forthcoming.
The current national house price record, sits for a Toorak mansion, that sources confirmed to News Corp in December was in the $131m-$150m range.
The exact price will be known in March. Settlement was due to be this month, but it’s been delayed due to the vendor’s new home not being ready until March.
If Symond sells his beloved Wingdal for $300m, it will double the Toorak price.
And it would more than treble last year’s biggest Sydney sale of $85m, also achieved, just before Christmas, by Brad Pillinger in conjunction with Steven Chen of The Agency.
It would also dwarf the $130m sale of Elaine, also achieved by Brad Pillinger in conjunction with Ken Jacobs, in October 2024, which then equalled, back then, the national house breaking record $130m UIG Lodge deal of November 2022.
It would also completely overshadow the Sydney home price record of $142m for the One Sydney Harbour Penthouse at Barangaroo, which settled last year.

There’s no doubt the magnificence of the Symond property.
Mr Symond bought the land — 2676 sqm, the equivalent of four normal housing blocks — for $10.5m in 1999 and commissioned renowned architect Alec Tzannes for the four-level residence that took eight years to build.
The house features entertaining areas for 500 people, undercover parking for 20 cars (eight inside the garage), four bedrooms plus a two-bedroom apartment, a pool, a wine cellar for 2500 bottles, a theatre with seats for 22 people and two commercial kitchens.

Mr Symond split with his wife, Amber, in December, 2023, after an eight year marriage.
He now spends a considerable amount of time at his home in the south of France.
Costing $22.4m, it’s set on a waterfront cliff between Nice and Monaco looking out towards the tip of the Saint Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula and along the coast.
The May, 2024 listing was actually the second time Mr Symond had offered Wingadal to the market.
The first time was in 2017 with hopes of more than $100m. It was only listed briefly but the second person that looked at it offered $110m, which was rejected.
Could there be a third coming in 2026?
Or will a quiet offer of $300m, or close to it, do the trick?
Time will tell.
