Surf champion Mick Fanning has listed a designer beachside home built around an indoor skate ramp for auction.
The three-time world champion surfer could bank around $4m from the sale, based on huge price growth in the popular southern Gold Coast pocket.
Fanning splashed $3m on the 2018-built house in 2021, with home values surging about 35 per cent since then, according to PropTrack data.
The contemporary three-bedroom, two bathroom home bordering Tugun and Currumbin is marketed by Coastal agent, Emisha Canning, and will be offered up at a private auction next month.
Fanning and his partner, Breeana Randall, share two young children and own several other properties totalling about $10m in the area, including a stunning three-storey holiday rental, and their hillside family home.
The Farrell Dr house for sale was built by local entrepreneurs Luke and Bec Conforti over a single level on a leafy 1269sq m block fronting Currumbin Creek, just 400m from the beach and backing onto Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Taking pride of place is a 3ft plywood skate ramp, housed in a purpose-built airconditioned room that is the size of a double garage.
The space is completed with a home gym, infrared sauna and surfboard racks, along with a surround sound system comprising integrated subwoofers and external Bose speakers.
Ms Canning described the property as “a once in a lifetime opportunity”.
“This unique space was made possible by a historic acquisition of additional land, enhancing the standard block size.
“Explore a home that truly belongs, complete with fruit trees, edible gardens, and planter boxes — just a short stroll to the beach, all situated on a prime capital growth street.”
It was one of the nation’s most viewed properties on www.realestate.com.au when last listed for sale in June 2021.
“We wanted to build our dream house here, and it was designed to fit the skate ramp in perfectly,” Mr Conforti said during the prior sales campaign.
“It has really high ceilings on purpose and all the walls are lined with timber and plywood for the fact that when you skate you can’t damage anything.”
