A slice of Bellerive’s most coveted waterfront strip has changed hands in a multimillion-dollar sale.

Petrusma Property’s David McLeod and Daniel ten Broeke sold the property for $2.5m, which was the No.1 highest sale in Tasmania this week, per realestate.com.au.

Mr McLeod said an initial influx of interest saw The Moorings quickly become one of the most viewed properties online.

“We received constant inquiries throughout the campaign, but it took a few months to find the right buyer,” he said.

“In the end, we had competing offers from two mainland-based purchasers.

“The buyers were born in Hobart but currently reside interstate.”

A property such as this has plenty to love: from the architecture to the location to the tasteful renovation.

Mr McLeod said the location was “the drawcard” for the purchasers.

“They said they always wanted to buy on Victoria Esp,” he said.

“The quality renovation of the historic home also proved attractive.

“Historic waterfront homes on the esplanade hit the market very rarely. Generally, Victoria Esp only has one sale per year.”

Built in 1904 for Owen Tinning, a local solicitor, The Moorings is an exceptionally fine example of Federation architecture, which has been configured as a grand single home and as two separate dwellings throughout its 120-plus years.

Two beautifully appointed kitchens sit at the heart of the home — one showcasing a modern white and timber aesthetic, the other a character-rich galley style with exposed brick and timber detailing.

Both are fitted with high-end appliances and fixtures, and a generous butler’s pantry further elevates the functionality of the space.

Five well-proportioned bedrooms, including a main suite enjoying bay views, are serviced by three stylishly updated bathrooms and two modern laundries, ensuring the home performs as well as it presents.
