The Chamberlain Ave, Rose Bay residence is on a 923 sqm block. Records show the Toppers bought it for $3,325,000 in June, 1998. Pictures courtesy of Million Dollar Listing Sydney.
Brian Topper and his wife Evelyn of the AI Topper leather goods family have sold their Rose Bay home for a whopping $32m via The Rubinstein Group (TRG).
The incredible hushed-up off-market deal on a home in Chamberlain Ave only came to light because it’s the talk of the suburb: it smashed the street record by $9m.
Since it was sold off-market there was no marketing imagery, so we’ve only got the photos of the property thanks to the team at Million Dollar Listing Sydney, who sent a drone up for us.
But what’s known is this: it’s a five-bedroom double-storey residence with pool on a 923 sqm block. It’s not on the waterfront.

Neighbours say the property has been renovated and it offers a “postcard panorama”: 180-degree views over Rose Bay to Manly including the Bridge and Opera House,
Records show the Toppers bought it for $3,325,000 in June, 1998.
It’s understood the ground-breaking deal was done by TRG associate director Zac Rabin with the buyer’s agent Sean Huang, who has recently partnered with Warren Jacobson to form Open Market Property.
None of the agents involved would discuss the deal when contacted.
Meanwhile, where are The Toppers off to? First thoughts were to their grand Point Piper apartment.
They’d paid $13m in September, 2024 to vendor Goldman Sachs local co-head of investment banking Zac Fletcher and his wife, Kathryn, for a luxurious three-bedroom pad with iconic harbour views in the Ardenbraught block.

The Toppers aren’t moving to their apartment in Point Piper’s Ardenbraught, bought for $13m, in September 2024.
It’s now up for sale with a $12.5m guide via Biller Property.

Records show the Toppers have been renting it out for $9.500 per week since their purchase.
But they’re not moving there — it’s up for sale via Paul Biller and Ben Torban of Biller Property with a $12.5m guide.
Ardenbraught was a historic 1903 mansion, originally built for barrister Cecil Stephen, KC, and later converted to luxury apartments.
The previous Chamberlain Ave record was $23m in 2022 for 45 Chamberlain Ave, which records show is owned by Tim Elliott, the head of mining investment at Phil King’s Regal hedge fund, and his wife Nonie.
Ironically, they’d bought it from Zac Fletcher, who sold it to move to Ardenbraught. Back in October, 2022, he paid $9.41m — so he made a profit of about $3.6m with his sale to the Toppers.
It’s a small world.
