Sam Armytage, the host of The Golden Bachelor on Channel 9, is selling her Moss Vale renovation project in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Armytage secured the home in 2024, shortly before her separation from her then husband, equestrian businessman Richard Lavender.

She paid $1.3m for the unrenovated 1960s home in March 2024. Now following its praiseworthy renovation, Bradley Cocks of Drew Lindsay Sotheby’s Bowral has bern conducting back to back inspections since its posting midweek.

There have been a snappy 800 page views on realestate.com.au. Cocks has given a buyers guide of $2.1m to $2.3m.

“These are the homes that define the Southern Highlands imagination – classic weatherboard cottages set behind established gardens, where the rhythm of village life unfolds quietly beyond the gate,” his marketing advised.

Set on a 1,920 sqm block, the home’s entry is through a classic full width porch on to a wide hallway. Inside there are French doors, VJ panelled walls, and a combustion fireplace in the living.

There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is an ensuite to the master bedroom.

The renovation opened up the kitchen and dining area. Armytage turned the kitchen into a “bright, white, country-style space”, complete with a farmhouse sink, a freestanding 900mm gas cooker, an island bench, a breakfast nook, and a walk-in pantry.

The cottage, now known as Churchill, has a new roof. Armytage quit Sydney in 2020 when she sold her two-level, freestanding North Bondi home for $3.15m, citing privacy issues.

The three-bedroom home had cost Armytage $2.15m in 2014.

The Bondi sale was just a month after her June 2020 engagement to Lavender.

The couple lived together at Lavender’s 40ha Berrima estate, which cost $1.95m in 2007, until their late 2024 separation.

Armytage had previously owed a weekender in the Highlands village of Burrawang while co-hosting Channel 7’s Sunrise.

Her $2.2m Burrawang property, overlooking paddocks with post and rail fencing, had been purchased in 2017 for $2.2m.

She undertook few renovations, but changed its name from Pear Tree Cottage to Churchill.

Its $3.1m sale in 2020 came after her engagement when the popular breakfast TV presenter was working four days a week.

Armytage, who grew up in the high country, Snowy River territory, helped Sunrise, along with David Koch, to its continued ratings dominance over the rival Channel 9 Today show.

Her television career began in 1999 at WIN Television Canberra.

She retains a $1,575,000 Rushcutters Bay apartment bought in July 2021.

Cocks secured the recent sale of Armytage’s Hyams Beach investment cottage on the NSW South Coast.

She paid $1,765,000 for the holiday home in 2018, before renovating the three-bedroom, two-bathroom house.

She secured $2.75m from Andrew Colvin and his wife Natalie.
