SA house prices rise again – one suburb’s growth stuns experts

Despite South Australia’s property market cooling it is still shining brightly on the national stage as the latest Valuer-General’s figures reveal home values across the state have continued their climb. South Australia’s median house value has increased 1.37 per cent, or $1200, over the past three months to $887,000, while the metropolitan median is up 0.52 per cent, or $500, to $975,000. Further, SA’s statewide median value for houses is up 12.28 per cent, or $97,000 on this time last year, with the metro median up 12.59 per cent, or $109,000. Last quarter the state’s median house price growth was $22,500 for the quarter, while the metropolitan median had grown $45,000 for the same period. The state recorded 6698 sales for the quarter – up on the 5918 in the previous quarter but down on the 6734 for the same period last year.
