The house at 9 Manton St, Richmond, has been in the same Greek family since the 1970s – and would make a great place to film a Wog Boy special, starring the franchise’s creator and actor Nick Giannopoulos.
A retro Richmond house that’s been owned by the same Greek family for five decades has hit the market amid suggestions it would be perfect for a Wog Boy flick or Sooshi Mango sketch.
Set on a 550sq m block, the home at 9 Manton St is for sale with a $2m-$2.2m asking price.
In the 1970s, the owners’ parents bought the house some time after they migrated from Greece to Australia.

MAK Realty’s Luke Fornieri said potential buyers had been wowed by the residence’s old-school features including stained yellow glass set in and around doors, the detailed carpet, multiple archways, a timber-fitted kitchen and thriving vegetable patches.
“A group who came through on the weekend absolutely fell in love with the property and said: ‘it reminded us of our nonno and nonna’s house’,” Mr Fornieri said.
“I think the best room in the house would have to be the living area, it’s so authentically woggy.
“I reckon Sooshi Mango should do a video there or Nick Giannopoulos should do some filming there.”
Social media stars Sooshi Mango, who bill themselves as Australia’s fastest-growing ethnic comedy troupe, consists of brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri and their best friend, Andrew Manfre.
Giannopoulos is the creator and star of the Wog Boys film franchise.
The kitchen was updated about a decade ago, but still has groovy tiled splashbacks and a spot to display prized glassware.

The veggie garden is set for homegrown salads and moussaka staples.
The house is close to public transport, the MCG and Melbourne’s CBD.
Mr Fornieri said the three-bedroom house boasts high ceilings, a corrugated steel roof
and a separate laundry and bathroom.
Original Baltic Pine floorboards are preserved beneath the carpet, while Morente timber floorboards sit below the kitchen’s currently visible floating floorboards.
Ten years ago, the home’s exterior weatherboards were replaced, and the home given fresh wrapping and insulation beneath the new timber.
The kitchen was also updated and cosmetic updates have been completed throughout the house since then.
“If an owner-occupier buys, they could just modernise it to their taste and potentially update the kitchen,” Mr Fornieri said.
“It would be really easy to modernise, but to keep the old-school yiayia and pappous feel.”

For Melburnians who grew up in a family that immigrated from southern Europe to Australia, bedrooms which look like this were a common sight at grandparents’ houses.
According to the owners, the house previously belonged to a man who was the original importer of Jaguar cars into Australia – which possibly accounts for the three-car garage.
Mr Fornieri said the house was in a great location, within walking distance of Melbourne Girls’ College, Richmond High School and Trinity Catholic School.
The Yarra River Parklands and other parks are also nearby, along with Swan St and Bridge Rd’s retail and dining precincts, plus public transport.
Mr Fornieri said that if a developer purchased the site, they would likely look to build boutique apartments.
