“It’s also so close to town and the beach, and its affordable – we’re looking at land value because it does need renovating.
“It hasn’t changed since it was built, with the possible exception of the carpet which looks more like it was laid in the 70s.
“All of the furnishings in there are from the 60s too, so it’s definitely a time capsule.”

Activity on online planespotting forums has increased in recent years, due in part to the increase in popularity of flight-tracking apps and the improvement of smartphone cameras, allowing people to capture quality, detailed images from a distance.
Ms Einarson said despite its neighbour, the aircraft noise was not as loud as it would be for residents in North Adelaide, Glenelg, Torrensville and Cowandilla who were immediately under the flight path.
“It’s not under the flight path, it’s just over from it, so you can watch the planes come in, but they’re not flying directly overhead, and then they take off the other way, so I haven’t really heard them whenever I’ve been here,” she said.
“Certainly a lot of people love planes and people track them through monitoring apps, looking up into the sky and identifying them and for those people, this place would be perfect.
“Flight paths aren’t the deterrent they used to be – that’s changed massively.”

Ms Einarson said, although the airport has never tried to buy them out, the owners referred to the property as their ‘castle’.
