“Bulimba is a destination in itself with this nice feel and community, so we sought it out and we were looking for something on the river when we saw this place,” Ms Shapiro said.
“The developers were in the throes of fitting it out and it had this eclectic and bold design that I really liked.”

Entered via a courtyard, the home features open plan living spaces, soaring voids and a continuous visual connection to the river.
“It has these big floor-to-ceiling windows and a beautiful void that always brings in natural light,” Ms Shapiro said.
“It feels so open. I love to play the piano, and the music transcends into the void.”

Downstairs is a four-car garage and media room in addition to an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen space that leads out to a covered alfresco area, overlooking the pool and river.

“The master bedroom is beautiful,” Ms Shapiro said.

“It’s beautiful to watch the sunset with a charcuterie board and a glass of wine and you also get to see the Gateway Bridge light up at dusk.”

“Everything’s at your doorstep,” Mrs Shapiro said.
“In some ways you feel like you’re in the city, but then you’re not.
“It’s also so convenient as it’s a city-style low-maintenance block, so you can easily lock up and leave.”

With the Shapiros now set to pursue business opportunities in the US, Ms Shapiro said the family had made the regretful decision to sell their waterfront home.
“It’s the sort of house that suits everybody,” Ms Shapiro said.
Camber is listed with Carla Hadden of Place Bulimba, and is for sale by top offer, with submissions closing March 17.
