The Tricketts last property purchase was a home in the rural hamlet of Bald Knob, between Maleny and Landsborough in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, in 2021.

They paid $2.25m for the four-bedroom, hinterland range home on an elevated 3.4ha of land, which boasts sweeping views across the Sunshine Coast coastline.

But, 98 Virginia Ave is another level of wow.

The home comes with epic city views, a pool, and a tennis court.

The Hawthorne property first made headlines when it was first listed for its previous owner, Don Gardiner, who was known for founding Don Gardiner Chemists.

The three-storey home has 20m of river frontage, along with a swimming pool and a tennis court.

The home was built to take advantage of the view, from living rooms and master suites with views of the city to a rooftop terrace that takes in Greater Brisbane.

Mrs Hackett said the property had been purchased in December 2024 and had only just settled.

“I’m so excited for the young family who bought it to be able to enjoy their riverfront home,” she said.

Luke Trickett, also a former Australian national swimmer and Wilsons stockbroker, has achieved success with his invoiced payments start-up, Marmalade, which he co-founded alongside two Afterpay executives in 2019.

The couple welcomed their fifth child in April.

The view from the terrace is amazing.
