Mosman’s apartment record is set to double with the launch of a $30m penthouse in the heart of the village.

The seventh-floor penthouse spanning 570sqm was unveiled this month as part of a $200m landmark development opposite Mosman Library in Military Rd.

The record for an existing Mosman apartment was reset in February, but only just been revealed, with the $15m purchase of a four-bedroom penthouse by media couple Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons, who recently sold their large family home in Cremorne. Prior to that, the record for a Mosman unit was $14.1m.

There have been higher off-the-plan apartment sales in Mosman, notably the $19.5m purchase of a unit in Redan Lane in 2023, and some of the other apartments in Amara are priced in the low to mid $20ms.

However, a $30m price tag is new territory for Mosman, and indeed for Sydney’s lower north shore.

The yet to be built 570 sqm penthouse will sit atop the Amara development which consists of seven two-bedroom units, 18 three-bed apartments, ground floor retail and the whole top floor penthouse.

Developer David Avidan, of Dare Property Group, said the luxury single-level penthouse close to all the action of village life represented great value.
