Niamh, the founder of childrenswear label Billiecart Clothing and an accomplished artist, has infused the character-filled residence with creativity and charm.
Both daughters have followed in her footsteps, with Alice starting a self-named clothing label in 2004.
At its height in 2019, Alice McCall had 15 individual stores and was stocked by 171 stores in 36 countries.
Bridget co-founded the brand Life with Bird alongside her husband Nick Van Messner, with the pair now running fashion consultancy Self Agency.
The sisters have not lived at the Somers home but have spent plenty of time there with their parents.
Simon said the home was located in a fabulous community and was also a relaxing place to live.
“It’s quite peaceful – our girls have very busy lives so they found it pretty restful to come and stay here,” he said.
“It’s a very warm and welcoming house. and beautifully situated on the beach.
“Our grandchildren have enjoyed the home too – it’s been fantastic.”
Simon said that in the initial stages of preparing to sell, he and his wife asked Kay & Burton Flinders if they needed to stage the property – such as changing furniture or decorating differently – but were pleasantly surprised when the agency declined.
“We did initially think we would be asked to stage the home, they told us to leave the home as it is,” he said.
“Our family has been big collectors of art and ceramics for many years, the way the house is displayed in the pictures is how we lived in it.”
Niamh began the family’s generational legacy of fashion when her grandmother taught her how to crochet.
“By the age of 12, I was making my own clothes,” Mrs McCall said.
“I went to London School of Fashion and designed clothes for a few rock and roll bands, including The Beatles and then I came to work in Australia.
“I’m so proud of our girls and everything they have achieved carrying on our family tradition.”
And Mrs McCall said their 17-year-old granddaughter, also named Alice, could be next in line to join the family‘s fashion legacy.
“She’s very creative – at the moment she isn’t sure whether she wants to get into drama or fashion,” Mrs McNiamh said.
The 1431sq m property features a parent’s retreat, sunroom and wall-to-wall glazing capturing breathtaking water views.Listed with Kay & Burton Flinders’ Andrew Hines, the home also includes landscaped grounds, a swim spa, boathouse, alfresco terraces and a generous space for summer entertaining with a built-in barbecue.
