A Gold Coast mega mansion that underwent an $800,000 kitchen renovation has sold in an $8.2m deal.
The property on the exclusive Sovereign Islands was marketed by Ivy Wu and Isaac Kim of Ivy Realty, who sold it to a Gold Coast buyer.
“The local buyer loved the renovations,” Mr Kim said.
“The seller redid the kitchen for north of $800,000 and didn’t compromise on anything.
“They wanted everything to be perfect and the buyer appreciated that.”
Featuring high ceilings, gemstone feature walls and ample use of copper and marble, the Paul Clout designed home encompasses five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a nine-car basement garage all on a large waterfront block of land.

No expense was spared in the property’s initial design and construction in 2009, with a recent renovation taking the ultra-luxe home to all new heights.
“It’s probably the best Paul Clout designed home on Sovereign,” Mr Kim said.
“It’s really an incredible house.”
Sellers Nigel and Kellie de Veth paid $6.7m for the resort-like home in 2021 after admiring it previously.
The couple embarked on an extensive renovation of the home, sparing no expense on updating the interior and exterior.
The works included repainting the outside, renovating the master ensuite, remodelling the kitchen, upgrading the pool and outdoor bar area, reconfiguring the lounge and adding European Oak herringbone floors, and recarpeting the bedrooms.
The result was a light, bright, opulent residence that rivals the world’s finest resorts.
The home’s wow factor is evident from the outset, with the entry including a gatehouse that leads to a footbridge across a pond.
On the lower level, indoor areas connect with an array of exterior spaces, including outdoor terraces, and covered alfresco areas.
Upstairs, each bedroom boasts a balcony and exterior seating area, and the home is capped off by a rooftop terrace complete with a spa and views of the water, hinterland, and Surfers Paradise.
Meanwhile, the remodelled kitchen and living area opens onto an alfresco entertaining zone overlooking an infinity edge pool, private boardwalk, and the water beyond.
In total, the property boasts 22m of water frontage and includes a dry dock and pontoon that can accommodate an 80ft boat.
Further features of the property include an executive style office adjoining the entry and a recently remodelled theatre, while beneath the home is a nine-car basement garage along with a temperature-controlled wine cellar and a gymnasium.
The highest sale price on the Sovereign Islands is $20m for 7-13 King Arthurs Court — billionaire Clive Palmer bought the property in 2020.
The highest sale price this year is $14.25m for 46-48 Royal Albert Cres.
