Aussie test cricketer Alex Carey is ready to pull up stumps on his Adelaide home.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who is starring in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, will be auctioning his Netherby home at 38 French St on December 7 – the same day Australia takes on India at Adelaide Oval.
“The game starts in the afternoon…at 2pm and the auction is that morning, so we’ll have to wait and see how it goes,” he said.
“I guess, I’ll be either going out on the field happy or going out on the field unsure.
“But I think it will appeal to a number of buyers, so hopefully it will go well for us…and we’ll get to celebrate a double win.”

The family-friendly home will be auctioned the same day Australia takes on India at Adelaide Oval.

Carey and his wife Eloise purchased the 685sqm property in 2017, with the intention to renovate the existing home.
However, the couple quickly changed their minds and recruited the help of the Heritage Building Group to construct a modern but character-infused three-bedroom entertainer with plenty of lawn space in backyard for a friendly cricket match or two.
“We’ve done some little home maintenance projects before when we lived in Panorama…but with this project we decided to start fresh but still stick with the character of the area.
“We put a nice bluestone frontage on it and love the high ceilings.
“I’m also very proud of my lawn and even bought a nice cylinder mower to mow it, so letting that go hurts me a little.
“I also love my wine, so I made sure there was a nice wine room in there – that was a big must, so will all those inclusions I hope it will appeal to a number of buyers.”

The near-new home was custom designed and features an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space.
The home easily transitions from the inside to the outside.
It also comes with three good-sized bedrooms, making it ideal for families or downsizers.

Carey said the decision to sell was prompted by a desire to be closer to family.
The couple is also hoping to try their hands on a another reno project.
The home is for sale through Williams Real Estate and will be auctioned without a price guide on December 7 at 10.30am.
