The Si penthouse at Bilinga headlines Amir Prestige’s summer event

A brand-new beachfront penthouse, ultimate family entertainer with a basketball court, and a media identity’s waterfront home are among scores of properties going under the hammer at one of the Gold Coast’s signature summer auction events.

While most other regional real estate markets take a breather over the festive weeks, the Glitter Strip instead ramps up to coincide with the city’s peak tourism season.

Amir Prestige this week revealed a preview of the line-up for its Grand Summer Auction Event on January 30, featuring 30-plus properties including sprawling acreage parcels, modern new builds, sleek apartments and development opportunities from Byron Bay to the Sunshine Coast.

Headliners include a double-storey luxury apartment with private rooftop pool crowning the recently completed Si tower on Bilinga Beach, and the Sentinel penthouse in Surfers Paradise, which comes with a 52ft marina berth.

Then, there’s a three-level designer home in Coomera which is every kids’ dream, with features including a basketball court and standalone games room, cinema and waterfall-edge pool.

Former Gold Coast Bulletin editor and media commentator Peter Gleeson and his wife Venesa are also among sellers, listing their five-bedroom riverfront home with a heated pool and firepit in the Royal Pines Resort at Benowa.

Another standout home at Broadbeach Waters was on the market for the first time in 29 years, offering a prized north-east facing point position with 63m of waterfrontage.

Amir Prestige principal Amir Mian said market conditions and buyer demand were aligned for strong sale results in 2026.

“Interest rates are holding steady, providing much-needed certainty and confidence for buyers at the upper end of the market,” Mr Mian said.

“After a prolonged period of caution, this stability has unlocked decisive action.

“Buyers now have clarity around their borrowing capacity, finance approvals are flowing, and hesitation has been replaced with urgency.”

He said periods of rate stability historically translated into stronger competition in the housing market, while the holiday season ensured the Coast was filled with potential buyers through January.

“Lifestyle buyers are already here, already inspecting, and already emotionally connected to the market.

“We are seeing a significant influx of buyers from Sydney and Melbourne, alongside overseas expatriates returning home specifically to purchase.

“They are motivated, well-funded, and prepared to act when the right property presents itself.”

The firm’s previous auction events delivered more than $500m in sales, Mr Mian said.

He tipped the summer 2026 instalment at the Langham Hotel to be the biggest yet.

“Summer has always been the Gold Coast’s strongest selling season, but this year stands apart,” he said.

“Tourism is at record levels, interstate migration remains strong, and lifestyle-driven buyers are determined to secure property before the next wave of growth.”
