Manly Sea Eagles new CEO Jason King has bought into rugby league legend heartland having just paid more than $3m for an empty block of land a level walk to Collaroy beach.

The former Sea Eagles front rower and club stalwart has been introducing himself to the neighbours this week after he and his wife Jackie bought a 697sqm vacant block in a cul-de-sac.

The former prop and co-captain was announced as club CEO last November and looks set to remain a fixture having bought the land for a new family home.

Previously the block had a single-storey brick and tile home on it and there is still an old inground pool in the back yard.

Approval had been given earlier for a five-bedroom house and studio on the land which has a north-east rear aspect.

He’s tipped to building a family home on the 697sqm block.

Collaroy, and especially the beach pocket of Collaroy, is rugby central for league players with big names like Matty Johns, Greg “Brandy” Alexander and former Wallabies coach Rod Macqueen, all calling it home.

Former Manly coach Des Hasler also lived in Collaroy selling his beachfront home for $9.715m in 2024.

The ultimate blank canvas.

His new address is surrounded by quality homes, and a level walk to the beach, village shops and local eateries.

The property was sold by Belle Property agents Steve Witt and Jo Morrison who declined to comment.

The median house price for Collaroy is $3.41m and the suburb record is $16m for a house in Beach Rd which sold in 2021.

It’s been a busy time for King, who earlier this week signed up club legend Keiran Foran to a long-term deal as Manly’s new head coach.
