A private estate custom-built for riverside luxury is up for sale for the first time ever, more than thirty years after it was built.
25 Radnor Street, Indooroopilly, is a five-bedroom retreat spread across 1,787 sqm: bordered by protected parkland to help it feel in a world of its own.
Its 37 metres of Brisbane River water frontage was irresistible to 88 year-old owner Maeve Donnelly, along with her late husband Peter, who bought and combined two home sites to form the estate.
25 Radnor St, Indooroopilly, is on the market for the first time since it was built in 1992.
The private estate was built over two land blocks, now a 1,787 sqm paradise with 37m of uninterrupted water frontage.
Their niece Maria McGarry, selling the home on behalf of her aunt, said “absolute privacy” was essential to the couple when they made it.
“This home was my aunt and uncle’s ‘forever’ property,” she said.
“Every detail, from the specific orientation for river breezes to the high-end European appliances, was chosen by Peter to ensure the home would never be built out or lose its connection to the water.”
It was built by its vendors to be a private retreat for their multigenerational family, with a main and guest home and wide open spaces for easy entertaining.
Built in 1992, the property features a main home built for large, multigenerational living, along with a self-contained guest studio a short walk away.
The main house is fitted with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two study spaces and a three-car garage. The rooms are spread across two floors, with an internal lift for easy access across all ages.
A Murano glass chandelier is suspended over a 5.2 metre void when entering the house, leading into a grand dining room with wide views of the natural landscape outside.
Every room has easy access to gorgeous Brisbane River views, surrounded by protected parkland that keeps the home nestled in privacy.
Meanwhile, the master bedroom has its own private balcony to look out over the river, complete with a spa bath ensuite right next to the view.
The guesthouse nearby has its own rooms for sleeping, living and dining, along with a loft to allow for rest and relaxation by the upstairs sky window.
Its guesthouse, built to be a home of its own, has a small loft for its own guests, allowing easy relaxation beneath its sky window.
The estate is going to auction on May 9 at Ray White Collective’s Calile Hotel event.
Ms McGarry said her aunt wanted to use the home’s large open layout as an entertainers’ paradise, which had served the family well over their many years there.
“It has been a cherished family sanctuary for over 30 years, designed to grow with a family through every stage of life,” she said.
The home will be going to auction with Ray White Collective on May 9, at 9am in Fortitude Valley’s Calile Hotel.
