Lakeview, Long Jetty offers flexibility for modern households.
The over-55s property market has evolved significantly in recent years as Baby Boomers have settled into place.
Now, as members of Generation X reach their 60s, a new breed of residents is seeking more than just a downsizing destination.
Lakeview at Long Jetty on the Central Coast is an over-55s community offering just that – a neighbourhood designed for seniors that is not closed off to a wider buyer pool.
Peter Shield, of marketing agents PMC Ray White, says the specific structure at Lakeview creates flexibility for modern households.

Extraordinary views.
Spacious contemporary design.
“Even though it’s over-55s, anyone over the age of 18 can buy an apartment here,” he explains. “The only proviso is that one of the people residing in the apartment must be over 55.
“If you’re over 55 and say your partner is 30 or 40, that’s OK, you can live here. Also, you can have your kids live here, friends or anyone of any age; as long as one person who occupies the residence is over 55.”
With about 30 per cent already sold, Lakeside by developer Surewin and ADG Architects, has a range of two- and three-bedroom apartments and villas for sale. Prices start at $825,000 with potential rents from about $750 a week.
Additionally, there is a yet-to-be-priced four-bedroom penthouse.
“Lakeview also offers strata-titled ownership,” Shield adds. “This is the highest form of title backed by the government where you own both the apartment and the land that it sits on. You are free to sell the apartment without exit fees or leave it to a person of your choice in your will.”
Resident amenities at Lakeview include a private parkland.
Common areas enjoy the view.
On the shores of Tuggerah Lake, next to Diggers The Entrance, the 87-unit project has uninterrupted water views combined with spacious contemporary design.
Sandstone, glass and timber come together to reflect the natural setting, alongside planned open spaces, landscaped gardens, and family-friendly amenities.
Anthony Kelly, principal of ADG Architects and long-time resident of Long Jetty, says Lakeview’s design has been inspired by the surrounding landscape, including the iconic Long Jetty on Tuggerah Lake.
“We used materials such as face brick, hardwood timber and fibre cement cladding, which are all low-maintenance and weather-resistant,” he says, adding that the interiors have been crafted for residents to comfortably age in place thanks to large bathtubs and showers, lift access, scooter storage and easy parking.
Luxe finishes.
There are 87 units in total.
“As children, we used to pick the longest [jetty] because it went the deepest and you could get out further. We used to fish and use row boats out on the water.
“A lot of inspiration for this project came from that childhood. We designed the building to maximise the opportunities to see that lake from the units and the common areas.”
Resident amenities at Lakeview include a private parkland, auditorium-style stairs suited to performances or functions, landscaped gardens, outdoor dining facilities, an indoor function centre and direct undercover access to Diggers The Entrance.
