Jason Kelce has received permission to build a fourth home on his expansive Pennsylvania property — after causing a stir with neighbours who believe the construction will cause flooding in and around their own luxurious houses.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles star made a personal plea to the local zoning board in Haverford Township, Realtor reports.

The 37-year-old asked that he be allowed to make several extensive updates on his land, including the construction of a new home and the addition of a fence to improve “security” on the residence.

Jason, who is expecting his fourth child with wife Kylie Kelce, cited his family’s “unique” security requirements while making his case to local authorities and expressing his desire to remain in the local neighbourhood.

“We want to be in this area, we like this area a lot,” he said, according to local news network WGAL.

“Obviously, things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes. We’d like to just deter a little bit of the foot traffic coming in and out of the home.”

Jason, who began buying up adjoining properties in the upscale community back in 2018, added that his plans — which also include the removal of several slopes on the land — ensure that any changes, including the addition of a fence, will adhere to the “aesthetic of the area.”

“We were trying to put a fence that sufficiently [deters foot traffic], but also appeals to the aesthetic of the area and that people would appreciate,” he said.

However, while Jason vowed that his fencing would not turn into a local eyesore, it was his plan to level out the sloped areas of his property that caused the most concern among his neighbours, who voiced fears that the work would increase water run-off and flooding in the community.

Despite the community’s concerns, Jason was able to successfully prove his case to the board, which approved the former NFL star’s plans — provided that storm water management is implemented to protect the surrounding area and properties from potential flood risk.

Jason and Kylie, who married in 2018, have amassed quite an impressive portfolio of real estate in the upscale Philadelphia suburb of Haverford.

Within five years, the duo has picked up three adjacent properties to create one giant compound, with reports suggesting that the former NFL star plans to raze the existing structures and build a “luxury mansion” at the centre of the 10-acre estate he has created.

He bought the first of the three homes — a four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom property — for the relatively low sum of $US680,000 in 2018.

The property came with a three-car garage, a greenhouse, and a custom outdoor pool with waterfalls and a hot tub.

A finished basement, complete with a fireplace, shows the familiar background where Jason records his podcast.

In 2020, Jason bought an adjoining 8-acre property for $US3.96 million ($A6.3 million), then added a third in 2023 for $US1.35 million ($A2.1 million).

Kylie previously opened up about how the pair have turned their house into a true home for their family while partnering on a campaign for Pottery Barn Kids in which they transformed their children’s playroom.

“Family is everything,” Kylie said in the video. “It’s really important to have this space feel cozy and comfortable.”

Jason cited "unique" "security purposes" for the addition, which would bring his total number of adjoining homes on that property alone at four.

The couple’s portfolio also extends to Philadelphia native Kylie’s beloved Jersey Shore.

In 2023, they purchased a $US2.2 million ($A3.5 million) beachfront property in Sea Isle City, which features wraparound decks, skylights, and gorgeous views of Ludlam Beach.

But while some might think that Jason has more time to enjoy spending at one of his many homes in the wake of his retirement from the NFL, Kylie revealed in the debut episode of her podcast that nothing could be further from the truth.

She sees him less now than she did when he was playing for the Eagles, she said.

“I see him less now in retirement than I did when he was playing football,” Kylie revealed.

“He is “busier now than he has ever been” thanks to the success of his own podcast as well as his gig as an analyst on ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football.’”

“We had a set schedule then. Now, it’s an absolute free-for-all. He is working so hard and really grinding right now.”

Kylie added that, when it comes to child care, she cannot assume that her husband will be free to care for their children if she isn’t available herself.

“I just make sure that I am covered,” she explained.

“And if that means that he’s at the house and someone else is there just to make up the difference, then that’s what we have going on.

“He will not be watching the kids. He’s not watching them right now. I think he’s doing meetings.”

Still, Jason has proven that his post-NFL career seems all the more lucrative than the 13 years he spent on the field — during which he is said to have earned an estimated $US81.7 million ($A131.2 million).

In August, Jason and brother Travis Kelce inked a three-year podcast deal with Amazon’s Wondery worth more than $US100 million ($A160 million).

Add to that the reported $US1.8 million ($A2.8 million) a year he brings in from ESPN, and it’s safe to say the former football pro will have plenty to play with when it comes to building his dream megamansion.

Kylie has also kept herself busy by hosting her own hit podcast, “Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce,” which has earned the top spot on both the Apple and Spotify charts.

Kylie, who is expecting her fourth child with Jason, has made numerous appearances on the “New Heights” podcast, which the former Philadelphia Eagles star hosts alongside his brother and fellow NFL legend, Travis.

But when it came time to launch her own show on December 5, Kylie proved that she doesn’t need any help in turning out a smash hit. Her podcast shot straight to the top of the charts after its debut episode — even beating out longtime podcast supremo Joe Rogan.

Kylie’s parent-friendly podcast focuses on her life at home with her family and the new-found attention she’s been receiving. She also dishes out mum advice and takes questions from listeners.

Adding to the “at-home” feel is the 32-year-old’s studio, which is understood to be located in the sprawling Pennsylvania mansion she shares with Jason and their daughters: Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1.
