A resort style Queenslander style home in outer east Melbourne with an unmistakable wow factor has hit the market, offering the chance to snap up a luxurious haven fittingly referred to as inspiring “relaxation.”

The five bedroom, three bathroom home at 589 Hull Road, Lilydale is described by its selling agent Daniel Bolton from Fletchers Mooroolbark, as one of a kind, with an unmistakable uniqueness.

“I think when you're at the property, the feedback that I keep getting, and the feeling I get there is, that you sort of in far north of Queensland…and it sort of feels very much like a resort style property, which you just don't get around this area,” he said.

Owner Louise Cuthbertson fell in love with the sprawling property as soon as she laid eyes on it three years ago.

“We literally, we walked in and it kind of ticked all the boxes for us,” she said.

“It's got the four or five bedrooms, in pavilions.

“It's a Fasham Johnson [Melbourne builder] design … and it lends itself to living … so it was really great for us. So, we spent about 10 minutes thinking about it and thought, 'this is the property, this is great'.”

But with their children all grown up, Mrs Cuthbertson and her husband James have decided to place the property on the market to downsize.

“In essence, it was its that classic case of downsizing because all of this year it's really just been myself, James, my husband, and [their son] Daniel is on a gap year, and all the rest of the house … the bedrooms are all closed off, it’s just not being used in the way that it should,” she said.

“And I think we want to certainly do a lot more travel now.

“We want to be able to just be closer to Melbourne, have something much smaller that we can lock up and head out to the airport and, you know, have a bit of an ease of lifestyle, rather than the big family home.”

The picture perfect home’s long list of striking features include spectacular Yarra Ranges views, with each separate living zone having garden vistas, as well as a teenager’s retreat area, ducted heating, open and gas fireplaces, a new 6kw solar power system, dual sheds and a double garage.

It has a unique style for the area, the selling agent said. Picture: realestate.com.au/buy

The sprawling entertaining area features a large pergola, a solar heated swimming pool and spa with decked surrounds, a wood fire pizza oven, a fire pit area with built-in bench seats and an enclosed pavilion with a plumbed-in barbecue and sink, a powder room, as well as a projector and screen.

Mr Bolton said in addition to the home’s lovely outlooks, the layout was practical for family living.

“It's certainly not your typical property that you'd expect to get [in Lilydale],” he said.

“I mean, obviously you've got the vaulted ceilings, you've got good character throughout. It's a custom built design, so you are not going to get another one like it, that's for sure.”

Mrs Cuthbertson said the home had an unmistakable “wow factor” that she would miss.

“When we walked through the front door three years ago, we were not expecting this,” she said.

“It's all glass that looks out into this central courtyard and swimming pool and all of the garden, so we will miss that … that will be something that's irreplaceable.”

The home has an asking price of $2,200,000 - $2,400,000.
