Around 20 properties are going under the hammer at Amir Prestige’s autumn auction

With global markets rattled by the conflict in Iran and wild swings in the crypto space, wealthy investors are retreating to the safe haven of prestige real estate.

The flight to bricks and mortar is setting the stage for a fierce auction showdown on the Gold Coast.

Going under the hammer is a wildly diverse catalogue of properties, including a mega-mansion with its own private casino, a quirky Greek-inspired beach house, and a high-octane hinterland adventure park.

Amir Prestige has secured about 20 luxury listings across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW for its Autumn Auction Event on April 17, held at The Langham Hotel’s Diamond Ballroom.

But while southeast Queensland continues to attract interstate and international investors, Amir Prestige principal Amir Mian said the current economic climate was sparking hard-fought negotiations.

“I’d lie to you if I said it was steaming ahead everywhere, but anytime there is uncertainty in the foreign markets, like in Dubai, crypto, or the stock market, the property market can benefit,” Mr Mian said.

“I’ve noticed a spike in inquiry from Dubai, as well as Sydney and Melbourne. Other assets are more volatile; bricks and mortar is always the good old-fashioned Australian way of investing.”

46-48 Royal Albert Cres, Sovereign Islands

Mr Mian said buyers and sellers were meeting in the middle with realistic, but firm, expectations.

“There is a genuine appetite to buy, but also a genuine appetite to sell. It’s at a point now where sellers and buyers are coming to the negotiation prepared for a feisty tussle,” he said.

Auction highlights include:

Baltimore on the Sovereign Islands has a private casino

‘Baltimore’ (46-48 Royal Albert Crescent, Sovereign Islands)

A quintessential Glitter Strip mega-mansion, this sprawling waterfront home has a custom casino, home cinema and aquarium and is back on the market two years after it last changed hands for $14.25m.

The Greek House at 241 Hedges Ave, Mermaid Beach

The ‘Greek House’ (241 Hedges Ave, Mermaid Beach)

Positioned on Australia’s most tightly held beachfront strip, this original home is a local landmark. “It’s always been known as the Greek House on Hedges; it’s like living in a Mediterranean beach shack right on the ocean,” Mr Mian said.

Crystal Creek Park is an off-road adventure attraction

The Ultimate 4WD Estate (530 Upper Crystal Creek Road, Upper Crystal Creek)

A 226-acre hinterland oasis with a council-approved 4WD park and campground. Bought during the pandemic as a private getaway for the owners’ kids to grow up on the land, the renovated property features established off-road tracks, cabins, and stunning views of Mount Warning. “It became their private oasis … they love it, but now life has taken a different turn,” Mr Mian said.

57-59 Monaco St, Broadbeach Waters

Q House (57-59 Monaco Street, Broadbeach Waters)

Known as ‘Q House’, this sprawling north-facing double block offers stunning skyline views and immaculate gardens. “They knocked down the original home to build something very charming and elegant with marble floors. With the beautiful trees, it feels like you are in Toorak,” Mr Mian said.

25-27 Brakes Cres, Burleigh Heads

Burleigh double block (25-27 Brakes Crescent, Burleigh Heads)

An increasingly rare double-block holding in one of the Coast’s most in-demand beachside enclaves. “Absolute beachfront properties of this nature are seldom offered to market, making this a truly once-in-a-generation opportunity,” Mr Mian said.

29-31 Cessnock Cl, Mermaid Waters

Mermaid Waters Gold Class mansion (27-31 Cessnock Cl, Mermaid Waters)

This sprawling waterfront home was renovated in lavish style by its owner Tianwei Li, the son of billionaire developer Riyu Li, whose Ridong Group spearheaded the Jewel towers at Surfers Paradise. The property’s perks include a tennis court, pool, guest house and opulent French-inspired kitchen with marble floors, along with a cinema akin to a Gold Class experience.

The auction event will also feature major acreage properties like Tallai’s premier 510 The Panorama, alongside high-growth investment opportunities and luxury waterfront villas in Coomera Waters and Surfers Paradise.
