Spotify’s Australia boss has relisted her Byron home for a discounted price.


The Aussie boss of Spotify has embarked on a renewed push to sell the Byron Bay hinterland home made famous for playing host to a popular dating show.

Music power couple Mikaela Lancaster, the head of Spotify Australia head, and her husband Mark Britt, founder of video streaming platform, iflix, paid $9.5 million for the luxury Federal property known as ‘Amileka’ during the peak of the market in 2022.

Known as the Love Island house, having played host to the Channel 9 dating show for season three in 2021, the 10ha estate was designed by architect Sharon Fraser.

The couple first listed the property within 2024 with a guide of $8 million to $9 million.

Records show they tried again in July last year, but withdrew the campaign after two months.

They have now enlisted the help of Will Phillips and Paul Lange from Sotheby’s International Realty Byron Bay via an expressions of interest campaign closing on March 12.

Mr Phillips said there had been strong interest since the price guide had been lowered to $7m to $8m.

“I’ve shown four people through in the past eight days, and we’ve shifted the price so it represents good value,” Mr Phillips said.

He said buyer activity in the Byron shire property market was improving after a period of cooling.

“2025 was best year we’ve had for three years in our market and this year it’s started off stronger,” he said. “We’ve had double the amount of sales than we did this time last year.”

The strikingly simple, contemporary homestead offers five bedrooms, a sunken lounge, a kitchen with honed concrete floors, and glass-wrapped interiors.

It also boasts an 18m pool amid grounds that have a citrus orchard, a vegetable garden and chooks.There is also the amazing 100-year-old blackbean tree that lit up the ­television show.

It comes as few months after the couple sold their Croydon home for $5.1 million in September last year.

Built about 1910 and set on 1286 sqm, the five-bedroom, two-bathroom home had multiple outdoor entertaining zones, pool and poolside terrace, gym, studio and a basketball court.

They had purchased the property for $4.75 million in 2021.
