Inside the Aussie Shore mansion

Major film studio Paramount shot explosive new reality show Aussie Shore, a spin off of hit US television show Jersey Shore, in Holloways Beach.

The party house at the centre of the most X-rated TV show on television – Aussie Shore – has been revealed, with the stunning beachfront residence selling for $4 million in 2019.

Located at Holloways Beach, a suburb of Cairns that was devastated by floods in the aftermath of Cyclone Jasper last year, the property is listed under the company name Torres Investments Pty Ltd.

Absolute beachfront

A search of the ASIC register shows the company director as Melbourne millionaire Winston Veall, who made his fortune selling electrical appliances.

He made headlines in 2022 after suing Gold Coast bookmaker TopSport over claims they “preyed” on him while drunk to bet on greyhound and harness races.

Now it can be revealed that Veall’s beachfront mansion in Cairns was the party pad for what has been dubbed an Aussie “record breaker” for streaming service, Paramount+.

The pool saw plenty of action

“As our singletons settle into their new home in Cairns, Aussie Shore has been the number one show on the platform every day since launch, and this is set to continue with the third episode now streaming,” Paramount+ posted on October 11.

“And if you thought things were heating up, just wait until you see what the rest of the season has in store.”

News.com.au reported that a housemate brings home a stranger from Gilligan’s nightclub in the Cairns CBD in episode three, where he and 11 other Aussie housemates live for the duration of the show.

But as it turns out, any strangers entering the house must go through robust (read: mood-killing) security checks before they even set foot in the property.

Most surprisingly, for a show that’s all wild drunken antics, outsiders entering the compound have to be stone cold sober.

“There has to be consent checks, background checks, criminal checks, police checks, court checks and medical checks of the person coming back, because we have a duty of care, first and foremost, to the cast,” Aussie Shore’s executive producer Dan Sheldon said.

“They have to have written right consent as well, and there’s a 20 minute cooling off period. It’s very strict. Brutal.”

Plenty of room to party on dry land

So what does the actual party palace look like?

Filming has now wrapped after a season of full frontal nudity, p*** transplants and sex scenes.

The stunning beachfront residence had five bedrooms, four bathrooms and parking for three cars when it sold in 2019.

“Set against a backdrop of absolute beachfront and ocean at the southern end of Holloways Beach, this outstanding property encompasses a 2679sq m block with 65m of beach frontage,” the listing at the time says.

“Set over two spacious levels, the layout of the house exploits the spectacular views from every vantage, including a stunning master suite occupying the entire upper level.

“The property’s sublime location, expansive proportions and architectural integrity combine to create a residence of rare distinction at one of the most prestigious addresses on the Northern Beaches.”

For the occasional hangover feast

There is also a fully self-contained guest wing with private entrance, an 18m heated and cooled pool surrounded by expansive decking, lawn and ocean views, manicured tropical gardens with multiple terraces and direct beach access.

At the time it was listed as the “largest beachfront block within 20km of Cairns city.”

But it would appear from episodes aired, and publicity photos shared on social media, that the residence has been given a dopamine makeover, with neon signs and bright coloured interiors.

Aussie Shore is an Aussie take take on popular American TV show Jersey Shore, released in 2009 and spawning a number of international versions, including Geordie Shore in 2011 and Acapulco Shore in 2014.

Screen Queensland revealed that screening commenced in April, with Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios production being the first to use the newly completed $12.6 million Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns facility at Portsmith.

Secured by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, Aussie Shore was tipped to contribute more than $3 million to the Queensland economy and provide approximately 100 crew and cast roles during production, with these benefits largely concentrated within the Cairns region.
